Selection Set using Item Type data

I am trying to set a selection set based on the data contained in a certain Item Type.
I have several elements that are on a single level. These elements have different Item Types values ("Interior" or "Exterior"). I would like to be able to select all of the interior elements in a single selection set. This will allow me to separate the levels. I have been unable to locate any keyins that will create a selection set based on Item type data. Any thought on how to approach this?
