Will the DGS be able to interact with the variables that come with and drive Functional Cells?
Take doors for an example: DGS recognises door objects generated by PFB and PCS. Not sure about doors generated by GC. I think that you can't just use the DG Explorer to modify say the GC door's width and get the door object to adjust itself geometrically?
Will ABD users be able to use DG Explorer and Edit in Excel tool to edit Functional Cell parameters, soon?
Long term, it would be good to have Item Types replace DGS. Seems like a huge duplication of effort. Sure, DGS will have some tricks that IT doesn't at the moment but it would be better for interop and new feature dev going forwards. RFA-l has already moved to platforms so it will only have to target and convert to IT and not DGS and IT. Things like incorporating expressions like OpenPlant can and platforms can with Named Expressions seems more likely to be resourced at platform level rather than for a single app like ABD. Display Rules would also only have to target one system. ABD's Drawing Rules would need to change to target IT, but this would open it up for use at platform level and use by other verticals and auto annotating i-models.
