Lots of interesting announcements about i-model 2.0 and i-model Hub at YII 2017 in SIngapore.
Intriguing idea of i-model Bridges, some sort of converter, that I assume converts the dgns + vertical app data to a dgndb / SQLite file that is managed in ProjectWise.
How far along is ABD in providing 'descriptors' for the incremental conversion?
It all sounds like a SQLite-based ISM tool, hosted on ProjectWise.
1. It would be good to know if the dgn's file size will be increased, like Design History, which doubles the size of the dgn.
2. And it would be good to maintain and use i-model 2.0 to improve the existing ISM workflows. This has the big advantage of not requiring an expensive and maintenance intensive PW license... ie maximising early adoption of this new tech.
I think Openplant SS6 allows the ISM to be imported and edited before being saved back into the repository... this in effect allows multiple Refs to be Activated for editing. I can also see ISM workflows being useful in the PAS 1192 model share and clash detection processes. This is currently stymied by the lack of support in for non-structural elements in ISM.
U3 or 4?
