OK, after a little more investigation it seems that the Rectangular symbol size is tied to the Body Length property while the round symbol size is tied to the Diameter property. That being said, can you log an SR with support and come back with that number? I'd image we can tie this to an Enhancement or Defect, not sure which, assuming one does not already exist.
FWIW, I haven't seen the upside down symbol yet, though both Top and Bottom do use the same one - any chance that is coming into play?
Also, the M symbol is used for Top, Bottom, Front and Back, while the Left and Right use an X to represent the opening. Any chance your vertical run is oriented in that direction?
