Removing edges from an elevation

Does anyone know of any way that the edges that are shown on the faces of the crosshead/pier elevations can easily be removed in the drawing?

We were required to create the drawing from a 3D model of an existing viaduct where the structural components were modelled as either forms or solids, following point cloud data.

As a result the lines obscuring the defect information are actual edges.

We then created Dynamic Elevations which were saved as ME files and referenced into the drawing.

I have tried changing the Display style of the ME files and while there were perhaps one or two display styles that got rid of all the edge lines (Solid modelling maybe) – the overall result was worse.

Another possibility we tried was applying a mask to the reference in the ME file which worked but was time consuming as there are hundreds of extraction files.

The latest option is to cache the 3D model in the ME Extraction file – this seemed to automatically get rid of some (if not all) of the unwanted lines.

We are looking for a preferably simple/quick fix as we have a hundred or so drawings and 3 or 4 times as many reference files. Does anyone have any ideas please?
