Compound cell behaves poorly in SS6 compared to SS5!

using SS6 to open and update a project completed in SS5, I have noticed that the section cut graphics of  a door cell now hide the floor covering patterns below, whereas in SS5 they were transparent.

This is a disaster, as the floor plan now yields an incorrect view of the floor tile..

There are no shapes involved in the plan view aspect of the cell, just line strings.  Note that the hidden area corresponds with the extent of the cell, not with any constituent parts.

Here is the correct presentation in SS5:[View:/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/5917/SS5-example-Untitled.pdf:940:0]

here is problematic version in SS6:

has a setting been added in SS6 that was not present?  A new default display order somewhere?  I will appreciate any help as we are on a drop-deadline....

further note, printing either direct or rasterized has no effect on this, the cell still hides the pattern and other items below.
