In my work, I need to add hundreds of photo links (see the screenshot ) to each element in a dgn file. How can I do it in a batch process? Where are the data about links stored? written in any xml files?

File opening problem
User getting this error box every time she opens a file, whether it be a dgn or ips (Interplot). I am posting here due to the nature of the error message.
There has not been anything done to her computer recently and once she clicks OK, it seems to enter the file and everything is working normally, but it is taking a very long time for this box to come up and then to finish entering the file after the error is dismissed.

Commandline Switch to open design file OpenBuildingsDesigner
What is the commandline switch to open a design file?
From the help docs -R opens the design file in read-only mode. But this is not happening for me, when I run the string below for the commandline it just starts up OPD's home screen.

OBD update 5 - elements visivility
Hi,
I'm using OBD update 5 and I have faced following problem.
Some of the developed bridge aburtment elments were modeled using smart solid intersection with "standard" OBD element, eg. retaing structures walls with variable height. The point is these elements but others as weell can't be selected using any of "soild" display style. After switching to Wireframe view mode these elements disappear, so also can't selected.
Any idea what can be a reason of such behaviour and how to reset selection mode, to make the selection active for all elements?

Catalog editor is grey
Hi
My catalog editor show grey catalog items. Don't know why. Could it have anything to do with updating from connect update 4 to update 5?
When I tried to create a new definition I got an error message:
Seems it have something to do with the organization level. Items and definitions stored in the workset seems to work just fine. Although, if I edit the XML-file my organization catalog item are stored in, the changes are shown in the catalog editor.

I have AECOsim Building Designer CONNECT Edition, Update 4 (v10.04.00.69) installed on a machine that also has ABD SS6 and when I start ABD U4, only US dataset is available. How do I get the metric dataset as mentioned in the announcement?

OBD U5 - Place vs Modify Workflow
A while ago I started a thread about workflow in ABD (now OBD) https://communities.bentley.com/products/building/building_analysis___design/f/aecosim-speedikon-forum/158203/aecosim-structural---it-s-all-about-the-workflow.
To me this is another example. I should be able to click directly on the Modify workflow without having to reset Place and going back to Structural first and then click on Modify.
Personally, I'd prefer to have a toggle that leaves Place up and not only appear when I click one of the placement tools.

[OBD U5] creating deployment image without redownload the whole thing
Hi,
It might be a long shot here, but is there anyway to create a deployment installation without redownloading the files all over again? Can I create a deployment that have all the bells and whistles and use that as some sort of template and create a specific deployment out of that?

OBD U5 - Missing OPD Ribbons
OK, strange one to finish my patience tonight.
I've been happily working away and looking at what is delivered in the toolboxes, no OBD I see (or at least no legacy boxes). Created a new file to do some modelling in and all of my OBD interface is gone, back to vanilla MS and I can't seem to get them back up.
Any suggestions?

Drawing a line by picking any point in open builder designer
In open building designer ,if we pick a point & draw a line in top view the line is drawn but in elevation view if we pick a point at any direction , the point is picking from (0,0) coordinates not from the point where we pick from it. Is there any solution for this?

How do I export drawing rules made in a workset? I've created some structural rules, and now I want to distribute them to my organization. Do the rules get stored in the dgn-file? In that case, how do I extract them to a .rul-file?

import revit model with spaces properties to OBD
Hi,
I would like to import archtectural ifc model (revit 2019)
I use ifcin for import model, spaces are in my DGN model but I lost properties like Number, Type ans Pset_SpaceCommon...
I tried also to open IFC directly with OBD.... but in this case I have nothing in schedules but GUID and number are there in properties
Someone can help me ... probably question of mapping !!!
my goal will be to have number (ifc) = number (dgn) and all in schedules !

I am new to bentley products and I was wondering if there is any book for mastering OpenBuildings designer , while am searching i found a book "Practical Architectural Modelling With AECOsim Building Designer" the problem is that this book is for older versions , also most of tutorials i watched are either basic or using older versions , any hint is appreciated

Has anyone made the geometry maps work on Update 5. It seems to be looking for different sorts of files when I go to select the geometry map rather than the cells indicated in the, albeit older, tutorials.
Is there a clear explanation of how to work with geometry maps?

Exporting STP using ABD
Hi,
I have exported some elements from ABD V8i SS4 as STP and then I imported the STP in autocad/ABD again to check whether I got them correct, found that all elements are there but they all are on 0,0,0, imported items are lying on one another.... Is there any way I can export STP without change in elements locations...?

BIM Workfkows - Cost Planning Tools
More damning criticism of Crossrail which is now going to overrun cost and programme-wise... so much so that a lot rail jobs are being put on hold or delayed.
On the programming side, Bentley can point to Synchro. I wonder if the cost estimation / take-off side now need some serious attention.
Any rail or other infra jobbie in the UK will now be under the spotlight cost-wise. I would imagine that all those BEP's would be dusted off and more BIM assisted cost checks will be demanded earlier and earlier on.
Connection or bridge to RIB iTwo... via Speedikon tools? CostX?
